A children's story inspired by my intersectional journey
Cecelie Finds Her Light is a heartfelt children’s story about courage, belonging, and discovering the strength within. Inspired by real-life experiences, it follows Cecelie as she leaves her warm island home for the busy streets of New York City, learning to embrace change, celebrate her differences, and shine despite challenges.
Through vivid imagery and a hopeful message, the book reminds readers, both young and old, that no matter where they come from, their light can guide them to who they are meant to be.

Cecilie Finds Her Light is a heartfelt and inspiring story that captures the struggles and resilience of immigrants. As an immigrant myself, this book resonated deeply with my own journey. This book beautifully expresses the many changes and challenges one face when moving to a new country, while showing that success is still possible despite the hurdles. I believe every immigrant household with young children should read it especially those struggling to adapt. And for non-immigrant households, it offers eye-opening insight into the sacrifices and determination immigrants embody to build a better future for themselves and their families. It’s a great read BUY it!! so many gems in there.
